This revised policy adds two new undergraduate research assistant job codes and classifications for undergraduate student employees whose work advances knowledge in an academic discipline in a manner that holds importance for outside stakeholders.
No method currently exists to track undergraduate students employed in research positions. The creation of research-specific job codes and classifications will allow university personnel to track, evaluate, and assess participation of undergraduate students in research employment and the impact of research participation on student success.
