Purpose and Summary
To provide for the proper control of University and Sponsor owned equipment, including the government equipment, in the possession and control of a subrecipient.
Scope
This policy applies to all University locations and units, including all University extensions, satellite locations, and off-site campus units, both domestic and international.
Policy
- The University is directly responsible and accountable for University and sponsor owned equipment acquired by a subrecipient or placed in the possession or control of a subrecipient.
- Title to equipment acquired by a non-profit subrecipient with government funds shall vest in the subrecipient when permitted by the sponsor's provisions.
- Title to equipment acquired by a for-profit subrecipient with government funds shall vest in the government.
- When a non-profit or for-profit subrecipient acquires equipment with non-government funds, title to the equipment shall be determined by the sponsor's grant or contract provisions to the University.
