Purpose and Summary
To provide for the establishment and maintenance of a program for the maintenance, repair and preservation of University and sponsor, including government, owned equipment.
Scope
This policy applies to all University locations and units, including all University extensions, satellite locations, and off-site campus units, both domestic and international.
Policy
- The University is responsible for the maintenance, repair and care-in-use of all capital equipment in its possession, including government and other sponsor titled equipment held by the University, in order that the most useful life is obtained.
- Capital equipment is to be maintained and used in accordance with sound industrial practice, manufacturer's recommendation, terms of the sponsor award, government instructions, technical manual/publications, and safety.
- Records of maintenance performed should be maintained for each item of capital equipment.
