Purpose and Summary

The purpose of this policy is to outline who is authorized to sign purchasing agreements.

Scope

This policy applies to all University locations and units, including all University extensions, satellite locations, and off-site campus units, both domestic and international.

Policy

  1. All contracts, vendor agreements, software license and other documents containing terms and conditions binding The University of Arizona require the approval and signature of the University Contracting Office, or a Buyer who is delegated signature authority from the Chief Procurement Officer.
  2. Documents that are signed without proper authority may result in both legal and financial difficulties for the signor, the department, and the University.
