Disputes Related to Separation from Employment

Employees in the University Staff classification are employed at-will and have no expectation of continued employment. However, within ten (10) working days of separation from employment, a University Staff employee who believes they were separated from employment in violation of University or public policy may dispute the separation decision by notifying Human Resources in writing. The document should state the reasons the separation violates University or public policy and provide facts in support of their position. The Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer, or designee, will review the dispute to determine whether any violation of University or public policy occurred, and may conduct additional research before issuing a written decision to the employee. The decision of the Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer will be considered final.
